The birth of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms series originated from a legendary watch. In 1952, Mr. Jean-Jacques Fiechter, then CEO of Blancpain, built a watch for himself based on his experience and needs in diving. This watch was named “Fifty Fathoms” and became the world’s first modern diving watch. In early 1953, the Fifty Fathoms watch was officially launched and put into use.
Today, the editor brings you the first of the five great artifacts of N Factory – Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5015-1130-52, the ancestor of diving watches, and also the king of replica watches.
N Factory Blancpain Fifty Fathoms uses a unidirectional rotating bezel with a luminous function, which can achieve accurate timing when diving. Although Fifty Fathoms follows the retro route, its size is not old-fashioned. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms has a diameter of 45MM and the case is made of fully polished material (a full carbon version was also launched this year).
The case uses the common mixed brushing and polishing process. The case thickness is 15.5MM. It needs to be worn on a medium or thick wrist to look better.
The sapphire glass mirror used by N Factory is the same as the genuine product. The process is difficult and the yield is low, but the manufacturing effect is still very satisfactory. The inner layer is coated, and the blue-purple light can be seen under the angle of reflected light.
The time scale on the face is full of three-dimensional sense, and the red embellishment at the tail of the second hand also plays a finishing touch, which is very eye-catching. The calendar window font uses hydraulic technology, and the printing of N Factory is also clear and natural. Thanks to the support of the movement function, the calendar of N Factory Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is also an instantaneous calendar (not a slow calendar of low-end imitation watches), which gives people a sense of smoothness when adjusting the calendar!
The engraving process of N Factory on the side is also perfect. The 316L stainless steel shell is polished, and the polishing and feel are perfect. The edges and corners of the letters are clear and smooth. The depth of the tooth ring scale is synchronized with the genuine product!
The lugs can also be seen from the back. The beveled lugs of the N-factory Blancpain Fifty Fathoms are restored in place, and the bottom cover engraving is also very good at restoring the original.
