After launching its novel Explosive collection, the watchmakers from Le Locle invite us to discover an ultra-limited and, what is more, ultra-dazzling edition, whose diamond cape is strewn with an… ultra-precious mosaic!
With its stunning architecture, clear lines and impressive personality, the new Blast collection from Ulysse Nardin draws inspiration from the highly particular design of stealth jets, those famously angular military aircraft often used by the US Army. Following the four watches presented a few months ago, the watchmakers from Le Locle now propose a glittering edition called Sparkling Blast.
This limited edition, or ultra-limited edition, since only three are available, adorns its white gold case, 45 mm in diameter, both on the lugs and on the bezel, with a diamond cape. Or more irregular patchwork, since the 211 gemstones that cover the watch come in 85 different sizes. Thanks to the unprecedented size and invisible setting technique, a discreet, even invisible structure was carefully created to house the gemstones, which blend flawlessly and harmoniously into the sharp lines of the Blast. The skeletonized dial is also decorated with hour markers, a rectangular central frame and a gleaming X profile.
Two silver-toned luminous baton-style hour and minute hands come to life in this absolutely magical scene. The watch’s 13 carats instantly captivate the watch, which is tightly captured by the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, which beats like a small heart. These time details are driven by the UN-172 movement, an automatic movement that offers a power reserve of three days.
