The new limited series conceived by Ulysse Nardin enhances the collection of the eponymous Swiss dealer. And, like the other references, this model features the unrivalled flagship colour code.
Ulysse Nardin stands out in the Bucherer Blue Collection with its Freak model that flaunts the nuances needed to enter. This version stands out from the original model because several of its components dazzle in a vivid blue. Designed as a tribute to the sea, the colour covers the rounded tips of the large openworked element dial as well as the scales and gears visible at 4 o’clock. Its presence evokes the monochrome atmosphere by incorporating pieces made of Carbonium®, an alloy composed of two-thirds carbon fibre and one-third epoxy resin. In addition to providing each watch with a unique textural effect, this material is highly resistant and incredibly light.
The time data come to life in a futuristic atmosphere, housed in a 43 mm diameter DLC titanium case powered by the UN-230 in-house movement. This automatic movement is completely custom-made, with a flying carousel that rotates on its own axis, a central bridge that replaces the minute hand and a wheel that indicates the hours. Its architecture is further distinguished by a large-diameter oscillator made of silicon, a material that has been used for more than a decade. The sapphire crystal caseback, printed with the UN logo and the inscription Limited Edition, allows you to admire this complex engineering from another perspective.
