Jaquet Droz Large Second Moon Anthracite, material effect

We thought we knew it well since its launch in 2018, but it surprised us again with its sandblasting effect and the tone of its dial, which is a bit reminiscent of the surface of the moon.

Tides, seasons, 24-hour working day… The moon influences the rhythm of our lives. The attraction of the Earth’s satellite is also reflected in the new Grande Seconde Moon Anthracite. With its gray dial and sandblasting, this variation on one of Jaquet Droz’s flagship models definitely attracts attention. The center of this stylistic choice is the stage for the display of time data. The blue hour and minute hands stand out perfectly, while the date hand is highlighted with a red dot. The white gold moon, set in a large aperture at 6 o’clock, shows its lunar cycle in a sky-blue hue, illuminated by six stars made of the same precious material. The composition provides such a sweet harmony and ensures optimal reading.

The 2660QL4 movement is housed in a 43 mm diameter stainless steel case with a double barrel and a power reserve of at least 68 hours. This automatic movement stands out for its wheel that flaunts 135 teeth. And, thanks to it, the moon phase only needs to be adjusted every 122 years and 46 days. The classic assembly requires correction every two years, seven months and 20 days. The sapphire crystal caseback admires the Geneva waved finish and the skeletonized oscillating weight.

This Grande Seconde Moon anthracite watch is paired with a comfortable, elegant, soft-touch alligator leather strap with a folding clasp.
