Jaquet Droz Large Seconds Dual Time, the Soul of Travel

As the ideal travel companion for elegant globetrotters, the travel watch from the watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds offers a new face that encourages people to never put down their suitcases.

Travel is a way of life. In order to preserve his worldly landmarks, Jaquet Droz has revisited the aesthetics of his Grande Seconde Dual Time without distorting its spirit. While the layout of the two time zones remains the same as the iconic 8-shaped dial, the complication of the second time zone located in the lower part has changed significantly. The representation of the continents in the form of polar projections now serves as a backdrop. The powdered surface helps the land stand out from the polished surface of the ocean. For easy reading of the home time, a red triangle points to the 24-hour indication carried by a disc that is now divided into two different colors, white for daytime and black for nighttime. The local time can always be read on the hour circle composed of Roman numerals at the top of the dial. Its time jump setting ensures ease of use for travelers when they reach their destination.

The four models feature a 43 mm diameter case and are characterized by a new presentation. Two watches combine steel with an onyx or silver opaline dial. Two other refined versions combine red gold with ivory or black fire enamel.

All versions are powered by the 2663H24 calibre. This self-winding movement has a 65-hour power reserve and, in addition to the hours and minutes, a refined hand recognizable by its red tip for the date. The sapphire caseback also highlights the stylised rotor. Each Grande Seconde Dual Time comes with a leather strap.
