In this limited series, Louis Moinet goes beyond the realm of watchmaking imagination with a novel movement featuring two tourbillons, each flying a spaceship.
Space seems to be a source of inspiration for Louis Moinet, as infinite as its dimensions. The company’s latest creation to date takes us into the realm of science fiction. The black of the dial is like the starless sky in Space Revolution, and four unique elements stand out. Two present the shape of titanium-carved spaceships. They weigh no more than 0.5 grams. Their opposite flight paths mean that they face off 18 times an hour. One rotates once in 5 minutes, the other rotates counterclockwise every 10 minutes. The other two works of art, the flying tourbillon, rotate continuously around a central axis every minute. This relief-style set is protected by an impressive sapphire crystal topped by a rose gold case with a diameter of 43.5 mm.
In fact, each regulating organ is paired with a spacecraft. The energy generated by the first is used by the movement of the second interstellar world. It took us three years to complete the sunken rotation of the double tourbillon integrated in the LM104 movement. This manual-winding movement consists of 470 components and is equipped with two oscillators equipped with a differential mechanism. Given the complexity of the mechanical structure, the function selector set on the caseback allows switching between winding the watch and time setting via the crown.
All eight pieces of this space revolution are worn on an alligator leather strap fastened with a pin buckle.
