Patek Philippe Twenty-4 Series First Prototype Stainless Steel Model Revealed

The Twenty-4 series, which was born in 1999, is a watch specially created by Patek Philippe for women. At that time, it adopted the timeless beauty of the “French cuff” (manchette) case and integrated it into every moment of the lives of contemporary women. In 2008, the Twenty-4 series launched a round case watch for the first time, equipped with an automatic mechanical watch, equipped with a date window and a large central second hand, making this series more rich and complete. In 2020, Patek Phillippe looks back at the beginning of the Twenty-4 launched in 1999 and launches two new stainless steel models to reproduce the unique style of the “French cuff”.

The Twenty-4 series is a classic representative of the “French cuff” case shape. This Art Deco style is inspired by the appearance of folding the cuffs of long sleeves and fixing them with cufflinks. The teardrop-shaped arc at the fold and the overlapping layers of the cuffs and sleeves are transformed into the most fascinating design details of the “French cuff” case – with a rectangular arched outline, the two sides of the case are stepped three-dimensional layers, and the soft arcs extend from the neatness, which can be worn comfortably and fit the wrist.

Rolling up the sleeves is to make it easier to do things. Using cufflinks to fix the sleeves instead of rolling them up directly reflects a kind of attention to detail. It is no wonder that the Twenty-4 with a French cuff case gives people a sense of exquisite and action-oriented neat beauty.

The two new Twenty-4 models that debuted in 2020 are respectively in stainless steel with a blue radial surface or a gray radial surface with a black gradient effect. The watch model returns to the first generation of this series, and some details are redesigned. The differences between the old and new models include: the hour markers are replaced by gold Arabic numerals instead of the original Roman numerals, and the trapezoidal gold scales used for the first time in this series replace the existing diamond scales; the hour markers, scales and platinum Baton-style round-headed hands are all coated with luminous coating. The overall style is more concise and smooth, with both beauty and practicality to meet the more diverse needs of contemporary women’s lifestyles. The newly launched 4910/1200A watch will replace the original 4910/10A with Roman numerals.

All Twenty-4 series watches are inlaid with diamonds, and the new works in 2020 are no exception. 18 flawless top-grade Wesselton diamonds are inlaid on both sides of the case, with a total weight of approximately 0.42 carats. The crown is decorated with the Calatrava cross star pattern, the brand logo of Patek Philippe. The E15 quartz movement equipped in this watch is made with the same level of craftsmanship as the mechanical movement. The links of the stainless steel chain are slightly arched, in line with the lines of the case; the surface of the chain is polished.
