The 5990, which has GMT dual time, day and night display and chronograph functions, is one of Patek Philippe’s most complicated sports models. Following the launch of the stainless steel version in 2014, this year Patek Philippe launched a new rose gold version 5990 / 1R-001. The ruddy case, paired with the classic blue dial of the Nautilus series, brings a refreshing new look.
The new rose gold version of the 5990 is specially replaced with a blue dial with a radial pattern. This classic original dial color of the Nautilus has always been loved by watch fans, and it perfectly complements the warm rose gold case and the hands and hour markers. It is equipped with the CH 28-520 C FUS automatic winding movement with flyback chronograph and dual time functions. The chronograph mechanism adopts a column wheel and vertical clutch design, and has flyback and 60-minute chronograph functions. The dual time function can adjust the local time directly through the “+” and “-” buttons at 9 o’clock, and continuously display the home time with a hollow hour hand, and is equipped with two day/night displays marked “LOCAL” and “HOME” respectively. It is the most convenient dual time function on the market and is fully functional.
Although the 5990 is not as popular as the 5711, it is indeed a very excellent complex function work. This year’s new rose gold style is not only more gorgeous, but also adds the classic design elements of the popular blue dial. Let us look forward to the performance of the new version in the market.
