Making the most of grey matter
As with all its new creations, Richard Miller combines innovation with luxury. Here, grey cermet is used for the first time, changing the aesthetics of sports watches.
Richard Miller uses brown cermet for the first time in the case composition of the RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams watch. This composite metal matrix has amazing features that make it ideal for use in high-end watchmaking. It combines a brightness close to that of titanium with a hardness close to that of diamond. For the new RM 11-05 Automatic Flyback Chronograph GMT, zirconium is added, giving it a grey colour. The presence of this material in the bezel contributes to the aesthetics of the watch. The colour obtained highlights the skeletonised architecture that carries the time data. Blue and orange accents on the month and oversized date apertures, the small seconds hand and the chronograph totalisers add interest to the composition and improve readability. These same colours can be found on the crown and pushers.
Combined with the Carbon TPT® strap and the grade 5 titanium caseback, grey cermet reduces the weight of the watch while providing ideal protection for the RMAC3 movement. This automatic movement coordinates all the time data. It ensures short-time measurement, countdown start and the display of the second time zone. The presence of a variable-section rotor and a high-performance double-cased structure generates the energy required for 50 hours of optimal operation.
This limited edition of 140 pieces is paired with a blue rubber strap to highlight its sporty temperament.
