The first collaboration turned a trial run into a stroke of genius. Riding on the wave of this success, Hiroshi Fujiwara continues to helm this new limited edition series with his understated vintage designs.
A talented jack of all trades, Fujiwara proved his creative talents in the world of watchmaking in his first collaboration with TAG Heuer in 2018. This year, the Swiss brand decided to commission a new limited edition of 500 pieces from a contemporary fashion influencer. The first watch takes the form of a Carrera chronograph with counters arranged in a three-tiered combination, while the second edition is a reinterpretation of a 1960s and 1970s watch with a 44mm diameter steel case. The black opaline dial now features counters in a double-aperture position. The Japanese designer’s signature style is reflected in the red accents on the hour markers, hour and minute hands, and second hand. The polished ceramic bezel plays a key role in the watch’s bold design, engraved with a tachymeter scale in a vintage font. The clean design and color choice provide excellent readability.
The TAG Heuer Caliber 02 powers the time and chronometer movements. The self-winding movement gives the watch an 80-hour power reserve. It is displayed through a stunning red sapphire crystal window on the case back.
The TAG Heuer x Fragment Design watch is crafted from 5-row stainless steel with a brushed finish and closes with a butterfly folding clasp.
