Ferrari Galet Annual Calendar Vintage Watch LCF025

For those of you with particularly good memories, you might remember Laurent Ferrier winning the Men’s Complication Award at the 2018 GPHG for their ultra-cool, modern and minimalist Annual Calendar watch.

This year, they’ve taken their award-winning design and given it a surprisingly on-trend retro vibe with this crisp champagne dial that harkens back to the 1950s. With no colours other than the red 31 on top of the date ring, this watch exudes a sense of ease not seen since James Dean in a white t-shirt and Levi’s. Talk about another 1950s style icon.

There’s a lot of information displayed on this absolutely bare dial, with the date on the outside indicated by a white central hand, the day and month displayed above the indices, and a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock with some intricate snailed styling to add some texture.

The case of this model builds on the vintage theme with round, smooth stainless steel lugs adorned with lugs that give the impression that this could be an old pocket watch meant to be worn on the wrist. The spherical crown not only looks like your grandfather’s watch, but is also very easy to use. Not that you have to use it often, as it only needs to be adjusted once a year in late February to keep it in working order.
