Released as a limited series, the new creations in the collection unveil the world’s greatest cities in a refined, precious chiaroscuro. A city that is just as beautiful at night!
After Geneva, Paris, New York and Beijing, Vacheron Constantin continues the incredible journey it started in 2016, flying through the world’s greatest contemporary cities and invites us to visit a new destination – the capital of Japan. True to its previous creations, the Métiers d’Art Villes Lumières Tokyo watch offers us a nighttime view of the metropolis. In addition to the city’s bay, the luxurious boutique district of Ginza, the iconic Tokyo Tower, the political centres of Kasumigaseki and Nagasaki, the Rainbow Bridge and Roppongi, famous for its vibrant nightlife, are illustrated on the richly coloured Grand Feu champlevé enamel and translucent enamel dials. As with previous editions, to dazzle the night scene illuminated by the lights of the buildings, Japanese artist Yoko Imai applied her gemstone (diamonds and pearls) and metal (gold and platinum) powders by hand, adding a touch of pure refinement.
The 2460 SC calibre, set at a frequency of 4 Hz, beats inside a 40 mm diameter white gold case. This automatic movement powers the skeletonised hour and minute hands as well as the centrally set direct drive. Once fully wound, it offers a power reserve of almost 40 hours. Like all references in the collection, this timepiece has been certified with the Hallmark of Geneva (Poinçon de Genève).
The Métiers d’Art Villes Lumières Tokyo Limited Edition watch is presented on a comfortable alligator leather strap secured with a white gold pin buckle.
