Initially, in 1957, Omega launched three steel watches called “Professional”, each excelling in its own area of ​​expertise. Built for speed, hence its name, and offering a simple and intuitive way to obtain information, the Speedmaster was aimed at pilots on Earth, long before it was destined for space missions that would take it to the moon. The Biel-based company pays tribute to this pioneer, now 65 years old, with the Speedmaster calibre 321, with the reference CK2915-1. This anniversary chronograph has some precious elements inside and out.

In fact, the rhythm of the 2022 edition is the same as the calibre 321, the same manual-winding movement used in 1957 and the Apollo missions, whose production has been specially relaunched. Set to a gentle frequency of 2.5Hz, the engine is finished in Sedna Gold PVD and offers a power reserve of up to 55 hours when fully wound.

For the 38.6mm diameter case and link bracelet, Omega chose to use a precious metal alloy it developed in 2015: Canopus Gold. Canopus Gold, a white gold with an intense and lasting hue. The famous seahorse adorns the transparent back, engraved on the glass, with a blue sapphire set in its eyes. As for the curved dial with the Grand Fire enamel tachymeter bezel, it is a black onyx disc that houses the traditional central hand and three counters (small seconds at 9 o’clock, chronograph minute and hour totalizers at 3 and 6 o’clock).
