Omega Seamaster Diver 300m “Beijing 2022” Special Edition

Ahead of the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games, the watchmakers of Bienne have proposed a special “Beijing 2022” edition of the legendary diver, reproducing the colors of the Olympic flag on its dial.

The Omega watchmaking catalogue contains a collection dedicated to the Olympic Games, which brings together all the pieces specially imagined for this major sporting event to celebrate the role of timekeeper that the Bienne company has played for almost 90 years, since the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Next year, the kick-off in Beijing will reach 30 thousand participants. After the global health crisis, Omega has developed a special diving watch for this highly anticipated event, the Seamaster Diver 300m “Beijing 2022” Special Edition, which will be available in April this year.

The 42 mm diameter case is crafted in stainless steel, with a helium escape valve at 10 o’clock on both sides and topped with a scalloped titanium bezel, unique to the Seamaster collection. This large ring, with its diving scale with embossed details and a sandblasted surface, is an indispensable tracker for underwater exploration. On a blue ceramic dial etched with a wave pattern, some hour markers fly high in the colors of the famous rings of the Olympic flag: red at 2 o’clock, green at 4 o’clock, yellow at 8 o’clock (the date fills the space at 6 o’clock), blue at 10 o’clock, and black at 12 o’clock. The ensemble is suspended by skeletonized sword-shaped hour and minute hands and direct drive.

Featuring the Beijing 2022 logo printed on the caseback, the watch is driven by the Master Chronometer-certified Omega 8800 movement, which offers a 55-hour power reserve and is presented on a steel bracelet with a steel folding clasp.
