As we mentioned last week, Bell & Ross are the masters and commanders of military design in the watch world, and this new release highlights how forward-thinking their work is. Combining vintage military design with futuristic materials.
The fourth installment in the Lum series in four years brings us the most wearable offering yet. A satin-polished square steel case with a round sunray dial, a combination that every Bell & Ross fan will be familiar with.
But the main star of the show here is the Lum. Since the launch of this series of watches in 2017, the brand has been using a special form of luminous material called Super-LumiNova C3. It’s like the Lum you see on most high-end watches, but for dials.
Not only do the hands and hour markers on the dial stay lit longer in the dark, but they also recharge faster than usual. This means you only need to expose it to a minimal amount of light for it to stay glowing after dusk. They designed it to have a matte finish, unlike the older pilot watches that used tritium and radium paint. However, there’s no need to worry about radiation here like in years past.
During the day, this watch looks like any other (except for the square case), but at night, it comes alive. A unique timepiece of quality, for a unique gentleman.
