Swatch X007 co-branded colorful personalized quartz watch

The Bond hype is building in anticipation of Craig’s final outing as an aging 007; but while we expected Omega to do the job ahead of No Time to Die, we didn’t expect Swatch. After all, fashion watches don’t really fit in with the whole tuxedo, martini-sipping, super-spy aesthetic. But that doesn’t stop them from being incredibly cool.

The new limited edition Swatch x 007 capsule collection doesn’t take inspiration from the upcoming film; that would be giving too much away. Instead, it looks back at the Bond film archives and some original movie posters and the famous psychedelic opening sequence of the six favorites.

With references to the looks of Dr. No, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Moonraker, License to Kill, The World Is Not Enough and Casino Royale, the collection is a playful take on the bygone Bonds. They’re certainly a lot more to the new film than we expected.

My favorite is the Casino Royale edition of the set, though, probably because it has the best opening sequence. That’s true. Fight Me. And yet, there’s one piece from the collection we haven’t mentioned yet. After all, you can’t have a 007 capsule with only 6 of them now, can you?

The final piece in the collection is a collaboration between Swatch and No Time to Die’s costume designer, Suttirat Anne Larlarb. It’s designed not for Bond (that was Omega’s job), but for a newer, younger, geekier version of Q.

In the end, you can answer the question of your favorite Bond movie by wearing it on your wrist – as long as it’s one of these 6 – and even if you’re not ready for that kind of commitment, they’re still fun, funky allusions to the greatest franchise in cinema history.
