Uncovering the technical secrets of the Omega Seamaster James Bond 007 Special Edition

The most beloved intelligence agent James Bond is back! “No Time To Die” has been released worldwide. Regarding the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Special Edition watch worn by James Bond, Omega recently released another “intelligence” video on its official YouTube channel, dismantling the technical secrets hidden in the Seamaster Diver 300M watch.

In the movie “No Time To Die”, Agent Q used his ingenuity to install a coil device at the bottom of James Bond’s watch, which can form a “limited radius electromagnetic pulse”. When Bond is performing a mission, he can use this ingenious device to short-circuit any circuit on the wired network. This watch has become a powerful weapon for 007 in the movie. In the plot, Bond expressed his admiration for Agent Q, saying, “I just showed others the watch you modified, and they were amazed.”

The watch in the movie was specially made for filming. The real-world Seamaster Diver 300M watch has obtained the Master Observatory certification like almost every mechanical watch currently made by Omega. Whether it is accuracy, performance or anti-magnetic, it has passed the highest standards of testing and certification in the Swiss watch industry. The watch uses a coaxial escapement, silicon hairspring and other non-ferrous metal materials to withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Such powerful anti-magnetic technology can resist the magnetic field of daily mobile phones and laptops, allowing the watch to run smoothly.

The watch case is made of lightweight grade 2 titanium made by Omega’s own laboratory, and the bezel is matched with an aluminum ring. This combination makes it feel lighter when you wear it. The dial is equipped with a “tropical” brown dial and unique military markings. This watch is available in two styles, with either a titanium Milanese bracelet or a dark brown, grey and beige striped NATO strap, with the number “007” engraved on the fixing ring. The watch comes with an exclusive brown cloth bag.

This watch is equipped with a coaxial Master Chronometer 8806 automatic movement, and the number format on the caseback is based on the real military-issued watches, “0552” is the unique code for naval personnel, and “923 7697” is the code for diving watches. The letter “A” is the code for the watch with a screw-down crown, and “007” is, of course, James Bond’s classic agent number.
