Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36, a colorful life

The brand with the crown logo launched a series of watches in the fall and a series in the late summer, each face seemingly adorned with a more glittering color than the other. A good mood style that is highly welcome in this rather strange year of 2020.

Surprising, stunning, sparkling. There is no end to the qualifiers we can use to describe the novel quintet presented by Rolex in late summer. Basically, in a watchmaking scene dominated by black, white and blue dials, these new Oyster Perpetual 36 pieces do us a world of good by adding a positive, dynamic touch to this strange year. Color has always been a means of expression, a wonderful way to fly in the gloom, and right now, it is definitely highly welcome.

This little watchmaking rainbow includes five unprecedented shades that are far from the classic codes that the brand usually invites: cotton candy pink, turquoise blue, orange-red, sunny yellow and forest green. Hours, minutes and seconds are indicated by three central baton-style hands hovering over the hour markers, all featuring white gold and coated with luminescent blue, a super-luminescent material developed by Rolex in 2008.

The 36 mm diameter case is made of Oystersteel, a sturdy and corrosion-resistant alloy, making it a perfect fit for any wrist. The watch is equipped with a screw-down caseback and a crown equipped with a double-lock double watertight system, which can be immersed to a depth of 100 meters. The new Superlative Observatory-certified 3230 automatic winding movement provides a huge power reserve of 70 hours.

Each Oyster Perpetual 36 is equipped with a bracelet that is fully integrated in the case and consists of three rows of Oystersteel links connected by an Oyster folding clasp.
