Montblanc Heritage 2020 Ref.126464

Montblanc kicks off the year of watch releases in colorful fashion with a trio of vintage-inspired pieces that hark back to the Minerva manufacture of the 30s and 40s. With several unique chronographs and one timeless dress watch, we’re sure there’s something for everyone.

Montblanc Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph (Ref. 126095)

Finally, we come to a watch that arguably looks just as good from the front as it does from the back. The Pulsograph lives in rarefied air in its movement design and finishing, and while some horological newbies may not quite understand all the intricacies here, those who are fans of the Lange Datograph or just about any Patek Philippe chronograph, will immediately fall in love with the reverse side of this watch.

And let’s not forget the stunning gradient dial, which leads the eye from the rose gold case to the lighter, brighter center. The trusty pulsograph scale on the dial stretches from 2 to 9 in a subtle bronze hue that helps the dial blend seamlessly into the case. While heart rate monitors seem a bit of a thing these days with smartwatches and Fitbits all having built-in, I dare you to find me a package this good looking.

Montblanc Heritage Manufacture Monopusher Chronograph (Ref. 126078)

A salmon dial is one of those few things that instantly elevates the look of any watch. Here the Monopusher helps even more because it’s a really cool timepiece in the first place. To call this chronograph a sports watch would be a disservice, it’s too refined and some might even say it’s complicated to belong in such a category. With this new dial color, you can more easily see it being worn with a suit and tie rather than your gym gear. You’ll even see classic Swiss engraving on the caseback, just to dispel any last thoughts that this timepiece could be considered sporty.

Those with fond memories might recognize the dial color here, as it’s actually borrowed from another of Montblanc’s monopusher chronographs, and the next watch we’re going to talk about is the Pulsograph that was re-released at SIHH last year.

Montblanc Heritage Automatic (Ref. 126464)

Starting with the simplest of the bunch, this classic three-hand watch can claim to be descended from a long line of traditional dress watches with fine details and unfussy design, all wrapped in precious metals. Here they have used a lacquered dial in British Racing Green, and if it’s anything like their previous offerings, it changes dramatically depending on the light. So when outside in bright sunlight, you’ll have a bright green watch. But after sunset, it’ll be a more subtle and muted hue that pairs perfectly with evening wear.

Inside, you’ll find an in-house movement based on a standard Sellita automatic movement. Giving you 42 hours of power reserve and the reliability that comes with excellent watchmaking craftsmanship.
